Second chance for lucky hens

Some lucky hens are being given chance for a new healthy and happy life thanks to not-for-profit Wigan based group Lucky Hens Rescue.

The group is helping to find new homes for ex-battery hens so that they can become pets for families.

Lucky Hens Rescue is focused on the welfare of former laying hens and is looking for members of the public who can give the birds a home.

Anyone who wants to rehome one of the former commercial hens just needs to make a minimum donation of £4 to the organization.

New owners can buy straw, feed, mixed grit and leg bands at the Lucky Hens rescue centre and everyone will receive free tree chippings.

Due to new legislation, it is now illegal for hens to be kept in conventional battery cages.

If you are interested in rehoming the hens, contact Alison on 01942 233375 or 07888730763 to book an appointment to visit the centre. Or you can get in touch via email at LuckyHens@Gmail.com.
