Residents in the Newmarket area marked the day that Kate Middleton walked down the aisle with celebrations that were fit for royalty.
Over the Royal Wedding weekend special events were held throughout Newmarket and the surrounding area, including lunches, mock weddings and street parties.
Street parties involving games, food and entertainment took place on the village green at Moulton, at Park Green, West Row, Sackville Street and Ditton Green, Wood Ditton.
There was a tea party in Exning and a party at Kirtling that included a barbecue, five-a-side football and a best hat competition.
A prince and princess party was staged in George Lambton Avenue, Newmarket, and a Royal Wedding luncheon was staged at the Parish Centre in Exeter Road, Newmarket, by the Stroke Association’s Cheerful Friday Club members.
There was a rather unusual celebration staged by Newmarket divers at Gildenburgh Water in Whittlesey. The divers toasted the Royal couple three metres under the water.
Schoolchildren in the area took part in mock weddings, saying “I do”.
