Amazing response for toy appeal

Stephen Smith from Wicken, has collected an amazing amount of toys for a children’s charity.

Mr Smith, who works for independent distributor Kleeneze used the catalogues that he distributes to send out flyers appealing to people to donate to children’s charity Barnado’s.

The charitable 43 year old collected £1,200 of toys himself and his Kleeneze colleagues managed to collect an incredible £9,000 of toys. These included games, toy cars and jigsaw puzzles that will be given to underprivileged children.

Mr Smith collected £3,000 worth of toys from Barnado’s last year and it is something that we hopes to continue doing every year.

He said: “Helping children at Christmas is something we all need to do. It was a very humbling experience taking the toys to Barnado’s last year and made us realise that we needed to do more.

“People are always asked to give money to charities and aren’t always sure where the money goes, but with this the toys will definitely go to children.

“We would like to thank all our customers for their massive generosity. We had an amazing response.”
