Fundraising Widow Honoured

Cheryl Barnacle, from Stockingford Nuneaton has been awarded the title of ‘Volunteer Fundraiser of the Year 2011’ by Cancer Research UK. Since losing her husband Clive to the disease in 2007 she has put her energies into raising thousands of pounds towards helping prevent others from going through the same pain.

Nurturing School Awarded

Stockingford Infant School is pleased to have been honoured with the Marjorie Boxall Quality Mark Award. The Cross Street School is among only a few in the country to receive the award, which has been given to recognise the work they do providing opportunities for children and their families.

Construction Workers’ Charity Skydive

A group of construction workers helping to renovate the RNIB Pears Centre, formerly the RNIB Rushton School and Children’s Home near Bedworth, decided to raise funds for the organisation by throwing themselves out of a plane. They thought that doing a tandem skydive would be a great way to raise some much needed money for the school.
