At Marche Studios you will find something out of this world! The quiet Shropshire village is home to metal artist Tony Peacock who creates steel statues including 7ft creatures from Alien, Predator and the Terminator. It’s not just the villains that Tony has made, as he has also found time to sculpt some of the “good guys” including Wall-E, Robocop and Mickey Mouse.

£4m Oakmeadow School opens

Children at the Oakmeadow School are celebrating the official opening of their school following a £4 million merger. The school was created in the merging of Oakland and Longmeadow schools.

Shropshire businesswoman makes money from moths

Most people dread moth holes, but a Shropshire businesswoman is welcoming them! This year’s warm spring has meant a big increase in moths which are known to cause havoc in wardrobes. Kate Holbrook, a Shrewsbury entrepreneur is planning on capitalising on the boom and helping those who are suffering from moth-related crimes. Ms Holbrook runs Turtle Doves, a company that turns unwanted sweaters into handmade fingerless mittens.
