Children at the Oakmeadow School are celebrating the official opening of their school following a £4 million merger.
The school was created in the merging of Oakland and Longmeadow schools.
Huw Roberts, the headteacher of the new school, said that the opening was a chance for the local community to see the new school’s facilities first-hand.
“Local residents have been very tolerant during the building work. We offered coffee, tea and biscuits for the local residents and gave them an opportunity to look around,” he said.
Children from the junior classes welcomed infant classes through the new gate in Lythwood Road at the opening ceremony.
