Liam Broady shortlisted Young Sports Personality of the Year 2011
Liam Broady from Heaton Chapel has been shortlisted for TV’s Young Sports Personality of the Year 2011. The rising star has been nominated alongside some of the country’s most promising young talent. Other nominees include tennis star Laura Robson, Olympic diving hopeful Tom Daley and athlete Sally Brown. 17 year old Liam made it to the Wimbledon junior male singles final this summer and wowed the crowds. Experiencing a drop of 100 metres at break neck speed on ice isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but for RAF officer Louise Webster from Hyde, it’s all part of her day job. The 21 year old has been selected to be part of the British bobsleigh team.
