Mary Portas praises Stockport and Marple launch pilot presentations
Bids that could bring in around £200,000 to the borough have been submitted to the Portas Pilot scheme. Stockport and Marple have both applied to the scheme which was set up by the government and retail guru Mary Portas to help out struggling town centres.

Classmates of Barnaby Harper and Isabella Carter were surprised when they heard their friends’ voices on the television. The pair has been chosen to be the voices for new characters in the Cloudbabies programme. Barnaby and Isabella both go to Norris Bank Primary School in Heaton Norris, Stockport and are going to be playing Bobo White and Baba Pink.

Her young customers are favouring extravagant creations made famous by the BAFTA-winning Channel 4 programme rather than traditional holy communion and bridesmaid dresses.
