Local Taunton MP visits Taunton Academy Science Day

Taunton Academy Community Science Day attracted a range of visitors, but Taunton Deane MP Jeremy Browne was certainly a poignant figurehead among the crowd. Mr Browne visited the academy to gain an insight into the progress the academy is making.

He stated – “The Taunton Academy has made good initial progress and the real leap forward will be in the next academic year when millions of pounds become available for the upgrade of the former Ladymead site.”

“This will greatly enhance the facilities available to all students and I want to see the Taunton Academy giving even greater opportunities to young people in the years ahead.”

The day entailed a wide variety of activities for young people, including a water show presented by the University of Cardiff, a circus skills workshop and a display of weird and wonderful exotic creatures including tarantulas and snakes. A great day was had by all.
