One of the hotels in Bournemouth is offering guests £10 for each day that it rains on their holiday in an attempt to encourage more holidaymakers.
As a result of a drop in bookings because of the bad weather this year, the owner of Arlington Hotel in Bournemouth, Sarah Uzzell, is planning to run the special deal throughout August.
The hotel will give its customers £10 for each day that the Met Office records over 0.25mm of rain at Bournemouth Airport.
Sarah said: “The economy is an issue but the weather has not encouraged people to make a decision about booking a hotel. If it’s your precious time with your family, it’s disappointing. It’s just not beach weather.”
