A Bournemouth hairdresser in training has lost her locks in order to raise money for a cause close to her heart.

A charitable hairdresser has already raised nearly £1,000 cutting hair on her days off. Alex Leagas, owner of Rags hairdressers in Bournemouth, has been opening her salon on Mondays and giving all the money that she makes to the British Disabled Waterski and Wakeboard Association.

A family who were left homeless following a blaze at their flat just days before Christmas has been left overwhelmed by the generosity of the readers of Bournemouth’s Daily Echo. Kay Gisbourne and her two children, 12-year-old daughter Megan and six-month-old son Toby, managed to escape with their lives after the fire at their Anstey Close home in Kinson on 20th December.
