Aakash Restaurant – Bradford

Bradford has the justifiable claim to be the curry capital of the UK and there is a wide selection of restaurants in the city to choose from, all offering a vast array of dishes and flavours. Bradford is also home to Aakash, which is billed as the largest Indian restaurant in the world. Located in nearby Cleckheaton, it has won many awards for its food; its motto is a ‘passion for excellence’.

Aakash is housed in a Victorian Grade 2 listed building, which was extensively refurbished in 2007, and includes an upstairs gallery as well as the main dining area. The charm of the colourful surroundings adds to the enjoyment of dining at Aakash, which has strong following in the local area, as well as being popular destination for visitors to Bradford. Diners can choose from an extensive a la carte menu or take advantage of the five-course Indian buffet, including over 30 dishes. Classic Indian desserts are also served, along with an extensive selection of drinks. Aakash offers private dining rooms for special occasions, weddings and corporate events and outside catering and takeaway services.

The a la carte menu has a tempting range of dishes with house specialities including Handi Ghost, Hyderabadi Chicken and Murg Ki Khurchan, while alternatives to curry and vegetarian options are also available. Buffet prices range from £10.95 per person, half-price for children and the restaurant can cater for clients with nut and gluten allergies.

Aakash restaurant can be found at Provident Place on the Bradford Road in Cleckheaton and is open from 5pm to 10:30pm Tuesday to Sunday.
