Angel wins ‘Fashionista’ title at young hairdressing awards
A Derby hairdresser has been described as a “fresh and exciting talent” by industry experts. Angel Montague-Sayers fought off competition from thousands of other hopefuls under 30 to win the title of The Fashionista at Creative HEAD magazine’s 2012 It List awards.

Theresa Snell was just a receptionist in Dublin when she first started working for the Jurys Inn chain ten years ago but now she has worked her way up and is the new general manager of Jury’s Inn on King Street, one of the largest hotels in Derby. Theresa, who is just 35 years old, took over from Andrew McLoughlin who has gone to manage another Jurys Inn in Scotland.

The number of local people who came to see the Olympic flame in Derbyshire has been described as “extraordinary” by the county’s Olympic legacy co-ordinator. Around a quarter of a million people witnessed the iconic flame’s visit to the county. Rory Slater, who helped organize the day said that seeing the huge crowds has been a highlight of his career.
