Barton Grange Hotel, one of the leading hotels in Preston, is putting on a special fundraising Christmas party in memory and honour of brain tumour victim Katy Holmes. The event is months away, but has already proved so popular that tickets have sold out.
Katy’s Christmas Party will be on Friday 23rd November, exactly a year since Katy celebrated her last Christmas at the hotel. Her parents put on the event early as they were worried that she would not make it to Christmas due to her inoperable brain tumour.
Katy was tragically diagnosed with the aggressive and inoperable brain tumour in October last year.
Her mum Paula said: “Because Katy was so poorly, we decided to bring Christmas forward for her and organised the Winter Wonderland party for her at Barton Grange which was attended by 300 friends and family and we even had family from Holland come to see her.
“Katy had a wonderful time and arrived by sleigh pulled by reindeer and had a huge chocolate fountain and it was a lovely night, but was very emotional.”
Katy did get the chance to celebrate Christmas with her family but sadly passed away in January.
Her parents got in touch with Barton Grange to arrange the party in aid of the Katy Holmes Trust.
Paula said: “By pure chance, Katy’s Christmas Party will be exactly a year after we had the last party there which will make it particularly poignant. The event will have a Christmas party feel to it and there will be a three-course meal, DJ, raffle and entertainment.
“We cannot believe how popular the event has been and it has already sold out and we have a waiting list of people just in case we manage to get more places.
The tickets are £45 each or £400 for a table of 10. Email info@katyholmestrust.co.uk if you would like to know if more places become available.
