Serious accident doesn’t stop Jessica Frankish from reaching finals
A Redbourn local has reached the finals of the Miss Hertfordshire competition just three months after she was nearly killed in a car accident. Jessica Frankish had to use a Zimmer frame to walk down the catwalk at the competition after she broke several bones including her hip, legs and wrist when she was involved in the accident in December.

A charitable schoolgirl from St Albans has cut off her long hair so that it can be made into a wig for someone suffering from cancer. Lois Bosatta donated her long locks to the Little Princess Trust, a charity which provides real hair wigs to children who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments.

Saracens rugby players and staff from the club bared their soles in St Albans, all in the name of charity. The charitable participants walked barefoot over fiery embers to raise money for the Hospice of St Francis which care for people with terminal illnesses. Jon was given the Chance to Shine Volunteer of the Year Award at the Brit Achievement Awards. A replica religious book containing medieval Christian art now has pride of place in St Albans Cathedral. The book, originally made in the city nearly 1,000 years ago, has been presented to the Cathedral in a ceremony and is now on display in its exhibition area.
