Singing sensation Jane McDonald is planning to return to her home town for a one night only performance.
The famous singer will be making a long-anticipated return to Wakefield to perform at the Theatre Royal in February.
The event, A Glittering Evening with Jane McDonald, is being held to raise money for the Wakefield Hospice. All proceeds from the night will go to the charity.
Tickets have already gone on sale for the black-tie event, which is expected to be very popular.
Ms McDonald said: “This concert is all about making a huge amount of money for the Wakefield Hospice.
“I visited the hospice on several occasions in the past, and have always been humbled and overwhelmed by the amazing work the wonderful people do there.
“I am thrilled to be performing in Wakefield because I think everybody must know by now how very proud I am to be a Wakefield girl.
“The one thing that keeps me here is the amazing community spirit which I hope will come together on the night of this concert.”
Diamond tickets for the event cost £150 and include a signed souvenir brochure and entry into a prize draw for a chance to win a private dinner for two with the singer. The winner of this draw will be announced on the night. Cheaper tickets of £100, £75 and £50 are also available for the event.
Wakefield Hospice offers residential and day care free of charge to patients and their families, but it needs to raise £7,220 per day to be able to do this.
