Family grateful for help following fire
A family who were left homeless following a blaze at their flat just days before Christmas has been left overwhelmed by the generosity of the readers of Bournemouth’s Daily Echo. Kay Gisbourne and her two children, 12-year-old daughter Megan and six-month-old son Toby, managed to escape with their lives after the fire at their Anstey Close home in Kinson on 20th December.

A great grandfather who has tunnel vision is planning on carrying out a 107-mile charity walk. Haverhill local Bob Cornwall is preparing for his walk with a three mile stroll everyday to break in his walking boots. The grandfather-of-six who has glaucoma decided to do the walk in memory of his beloved with of 59 years, Betty. He hopes that he will be able to raise hundreds of pounds for the International Glaucoma Association with his walk.

Visitors flocked to Portland to get a glimpse of a giant inflatable ball on its last day in the borough. The 15ft RedBall UK art project has ended its tour of the Bournemouth area on a high in Chiswell yesterday. The giant ball was lodged on a walled area next to the Cove House Inn and had spent the previous by Weymouth Esp-lanade.
