Successful rescue attempt for 12 stone Coventry dog
Ted, a 12 stone, two year old Newfoundland dog from Coventry has had a lucky escape after falling off a 150ft cliff in Cornwall. Ted was on a walk with his family when he disappeared off the edge of a cliff in Morwenstow, near Bude. The London 2012 games have brought a boost of £50 million to businesses across Coventry and Warwickshire. Business leaders at the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce have said that restaurants and hotels in Coventry and the surrounding areas have gained from extra business that has come from people watching the Olympic football at the Ricoh.

Photocopier Consumables Limited (PCL) sought help from Askews accountants based in The Quadrant, Coventry city centre, after they were unable to get any money through traditional funding streams.

Coventry City Council is planning to spend millions of pounds of taxpayers’ money on contracts with global accountancy firms. Rather than spending the money with accountants in Coventry, the councils have enlisted worldwide companies Deloitte and KMPG for financial advice and tax advice. They also have a partnership arrangement with PriceWaterhouseCoopers for advice on how to make multi-million pound council savings.

A petition which is calling for a new dentists in Coventry has been signed by over 1,400 people, although the NHS believe that there is no need for one. Patients are campaigning for the Cheylesmore doctor’s Surgery, which moved into Quinton Road last year, to be reopened as a dentists.
