20 year old Chris Goddard, a Huddersfield journalism student has swapped his day to day university life for television stardom. The student headed to London to take part in the new ITV2 programme The Exclusives which follows six wannabe journalists hoping to start a magazine career.
Chris, who studies at the University of Huddersfield, fought off competition from 5,000 hopefuls to win his place on the reality show. In The Exclusives, the contestants are put through their paces in London’s celebrity circuit.
Chris lives with his partner in Moldgreen and has taken part in the competition in the hopes of winning a 12-month contract working for a top London glossy magazine. He has been rubbing shoulders with stars and the paparazzi but is staying tight lipped about the outcome.
It was filmed back in February and Chris hopes that the experience will help him in his future career.
He said: “It was amazing and just non-stop.
“We survived on just a few hours sleep. I was exhausted by the end of it.
“You think when you watch it that it looks fairly simple, but everything takes longer because they have to set the cameras up.
“But it hasn’t put me off. I would still love to do it.”
