Hide And Seek Record Attempt

A group of young people are hoping to break the world record for the biggest game of hide and seek. The young people, who attend the Young Batley Centre, were hoping people from all over the Kirklees area would turn up for the record-breaking attempt in July. Kirklees Council’s Young People’s Service and the Friends of Beaumont Park were supporting the organisers in their attempt.

Choral Anniversary Hits The Right Note

Singers gave the audience a night to remember during a concert to mark the 175th anniversary of the Huddersfield Choral Society. The concert took place at Huddersfield Town Hall and was the highlight of months of events to celebrate the society’s birthday.

Hundreds Walk In The Midnight Rain

Hundreds of people, dogs and pushchairs went out on the streets in the pouring rain at midnight to raise money for a hospice. Around 900 people turned up at Huddersfield’s Galpharm Stadium for the fifth annual Midnight Memory Walk in aid of Kirkwood Hospice.
