Huge Boost in Tourism for Ilford

TripAdvisor has named Ilford Europe’s fastest growing tourist destination in a list that presented Europe’s fastest growing tourist destinations. It beat popular towns in France, the Ukraine and other areas in the UK to win the top spot.

The full list is outlined below:

1. Ilford, east London

2. Valras-Plage, France

3. Trafford, Greater Manchester

4. Tamworth, Staffordshire

5. Brandon, Suffolk

6. Yalta, Ukraine

7. Salford, Greater Manchester

8. Warrington, Cheshire

9. Warminster, Wiltshire

10.Hounslow, West London

The UK dominated the list with other unlikely entries. TripAdvisor, the popular travel site, said that there had been an influx in tourists in Ilford, which could be, in part, attributed to the Olympics that will be taking place near the area in 2012. The nearby Olympic Park will act as the 2012 site for the Olympics.

However, aside from the Olympics people are finding other reasons to visit the East London suburb in Essex County. The suburb in Essex has plenty more to offer with various things for tourists to see and do. One of the most popular attractions in Ilford is the Valentines Mansion and Gardens, which is a stunning country house. There you can see art exhibitions, Victorian décor, Georgian décor and the beautiful surrounding gardens. The Redbridge Museum is also a popular location with tourists and features many exhibitions, and the Kenneth More Theatre is also popular with visitors. The town also offers many other things to do for couples, families and children.

Although the boost in tourism is partly associated with the Olympics, Ilford is expected to continue attracting tourists beyond 2012.

Ilford is become a place that is become unrecognised. People spit on the streets all the time and have no manners. Trade will continue to slump thats why so many shops get closed down….
