A company which recycles laser printers and parts for printers in Preston is expanding after receiving a loan from Lancashire County Council’s Rosebud Fund.
The Green Printer Company is expected to double its workforce within the next 18 months.
The company works to meet the growing demand for repaired and refurbished printers for office equipment dealers, businesses and schools.
There are currently only seven members of staff but they are expected to create seven more jobs. The new funding that they have secured will allow the company to meet the increase in demand for their flexibly managed print service.
Colin Relfe founded the company in 2010 and still acts as the managing director. He has over 20 years experience in the printing industry.
Mr Relfe said: “The success of The Green Printer Company reflects the increasing demand for refurbished printers, which are a less costly and more environmentally friendly choice than new products.
He added: “Increasingly people are choosing our managed print service as it offers greater efficiency and convenience.
“The business is well positioned to grow.”
