Macdonald Hotels and Resorts invest £5m

Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, which claims to be the UK’s biggest privately-owned hotel group, has announced its plans to invest £5m across its hotel, conference and meeting space portfolio. The group has over 45 hotels in its collection and the investment will be spread across many hotels in the group. Green light for Printworks proposals

It is hoped that plans to convert a former printers in Preston into an upmarket office complex will fill a gap in the town’s property market. Philip Thornton, Etc Urban architect who is working on the project, has said that the transformation of the Lambert Brothers printworks on Glovers’ Court, would attract businesses into the city centre.

Printers creating new jobs

A company which recycles laser printers and parts for printers in Preston is expanding after receiving a loan from Lancashire County Council’s Rosebud Fund. The Green Printer Company is expected to double its workforce within the next 18 months.
