Harley meets Dr Who

6 year old Harley Lane shone as he took centre stage at the Children in Need concert alongside Doctor Who star David Tennant.
The ex-Doctor appeared at the concert at the M.E.N arena to do his bit for charity and Harley was delighted to meet him. The charity extravaganza featured performances from world famous stars including Lady Gaga, Gary Barlow and Coldplay.
The audience at the event and those watching at home were shown a film which told of brave Harvey’s battle with meningitis, which resulted in him losing all of his limbs.
David Tennant introduced the film and said that it told the story of an ‘amazing little boy’s life’.
He told the crowd: “It is a tough story but it’s a vivid illustration of where the Children in Need money goes.”
Harley fought for survival after he contracted meningitis in 2009, and during his battle, his heart stopped three times.
The Children in Need film was shot at Hazel Grove Primary School and Harley’s Tamworth Close home. It chronicled his determination to overcome his disability and learn to live with his artificial limbs.
Harley is no stranger to the limelight and was awarded with a bravery award from Prince Harry two months ago.
Harley’s proud Mum, Samantha said: “David Tennant was very nice and off camera he was chatting to Harley and asking him who his favourite act was.
“However, once the camera was on Harley, he went quiet. Harley really, really enjoyed the show, and in particular, Lady Gaga.
“The next day at school, which was a non-uniform day for Children in Need, people kept coming up to him and saying they had seen him on TV the night before, and asking if he had had a good time.”
