Staff from a Swansea company had to remain tight-lipped after teams from TV show The Apprentice made biscuits at their premises.
The workers at Mono Equipment were finally able to spill the beans when the show was aired at the end of June.
Alan Sugar’s teams had used the premises and equipment at Fforestfach for a challenge to create and make a new biscuit.
The company makes bakery equipment and has a test bakery on site. The show also enlisted the help of a biscuit consultant to help the teams. Members of staff appeared on the show along with members of a local mother and toddler group and members of a Women’s Institute, as focus groups to taste the biscuits.
Andrew Jones, managing director of Mono Equipment, said: “They were on site for just one day. The whole production team moved down here and took over the whole of the site. It was amazing.
“We were able to facilitate both teams as we had a second kitchen facility.
“Now that the screening of the show has actually arrived there is a bit of a buzz amongst the members of staff.”
Mr Jones and his staff had to keep quiet about being involved with the show until it was aired, after signing a confidentiality agreement. He said crew members first checked out the site nine months ago before deciding to film there.
He added: “It’s good brand awareness for us but I think it’s probably a one-off.
“I think the show helps to give the company a bit of a profile.”
