Royal Harpist Named

Prince Charles has appointed Swansea musician Hannah Stone as his official royal harpist. The announcement was made during the Prince’s week-long tour of Wales. Hannah, 24, played at a reception at the prince’s home in Llwynywermod, Carmarthenshire. She will now hold the post of official harpist to the Prince for two years.

Sugar’s Teams Make Biscuits In Swansea

Staff from a Swansea company had to remain tight-lipped after teams from TV show The Apprentice made biscuits at their premises. The workers at Mono Equipment were finally able to spill the beans when the show was aired at the end of June.

Jamie Oliver In Town

TV chef Jamie Oliver visited Swansea Bay to eat ice cream, go lobster fishing and hold a barbecue during filming for his new series. Jamie was in town for two days and spent time with ice-cream business Verdi’s, in Mumbles.

Walking Group To Keep Running

A group of walkers were not prepared to hang up their boots when Lottery funding for their club came to an end. Swansea’s Mentro Allan group was due to be closed down after four years when funding came to an end, but members have decided to take it over and keep it running.
