President Barack Obama has revealed an interesting tactic that he uses to stop his daughters from getting a tattoo.
A story in The Independent reported that the American president tells his children Malia, 14, and Sasha, 11, that if they get a tattoo, he will get a matching one.
He said on NBC’s Today show: “What we’ve said to the girls is, ‘If you guys ever decide you’re going to get a tattoo, then mommy and me will get the exact same tattoo, in the same place, and we’ll go on YouTube and show it off as a family tattoo.
“’Our thinking is that might dissuade them from thinking that somehow that’s a good way to rebel’.”
I can see his thinking, but this does seem like a bit of a risky approach. I really want one of his daughters to get ‘I love Justin Bieber’ tattooed on their arm, or better still, a picture of all the boys from One Direction on their back. I’d love to see Obama with a matching one of those.
This story also worried me a little bit. Does Obama use this tactic in his politics? Does he say to North Korea: “If you don’t stop oppressing your people, we are going to start copying you in America, so there!”?
Obama was also quoted in another story in The Independent this week saying: “”I think that the Israeli government recognises that, as president of the United States, I don’t bluff.”
Let’s just hope the Israeli government hasn’t seen the tattoo story.
