Daniel Craig plays James Bond
behind the latest James Bond film Skyfall; Sky Movies has introduced a dedicated James Bond channel to mark 50 years of Bond, and today I stumbled across a piece on the BBC looking at how Bond’s sex life compares to an average man.And just how do we think it’s going to compare? Where in life does an average man meet an endless number of glamorous women called names such as Pussy Galore and Honey Ryder? How many average men compare to Bond? And, that is the appeal of Bond – it’s fiction that delivers thrilling action sequences, where the hero does things an average man would fail to. This includes beating the mean average of 9.3 female sexual partners that ‘average’ men reported in their lifetime.
The character of Bond is grittier now that Daniel Craig is playing the role. He brings his own personality to the role: just as each previous Bond has done. He is definitely one of my favourite Bonds and I will look forward to seeing Skyfall. I, for one, hope the swimming trunks from Casino Royale make a reappearance: with Daniel Craig in them, of course. This seems unlikely though as the said swimming trunks are one of the items being bid for at a memorabilia auction that is part of 50th anniversary celebrations of the first Bond movie.
It’s 50 years on and Bond has lost none of its appeal: be that sex appeal or otherwise!
