Leanne’s diamond hopes for her salon

A new hairdressers in Newcastle is hoping to becoming the jewel in the crown of South Tyneside in the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year.

Jubilee inspired Diamond Hair has just opened on Fowler Street, South Shields, by experienced hairdresser Leanne Brown.

Leanne has experience working at many Tyneside salons, including Wildes and Cutting Garden in Newcastle and LC Hair Design in South Shields. The talented hair stylist has now decided to open her own salon.

“I thought reflecting the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee this year was a good idea to get the business started.

“Becoming self-employed seemed scary at first, but I have brought some of my former customers to the salon, and I’ve spent time reading books on business, as well receiving help from a friend who has a company. I plan to take on some junior apprentices, who I will train up myself. But basically, the immediate aim is to get Diamond Hair better known in the area.”

38 year old Miss Brown has help in the form of junior stylist Jesika Sowerby who trained as a hairdresser at South Tyneside College and with Wildes.
