Accountants raise amazing £100,000 for charity

Tait Walker accountants in Newcastle have reached an impressive milestone after raising £100,000 for local charities.

The charitable chartered accountants surpassed their original goal of raising £75,000 in 2012 in recognition of their 75 years in business.

Charities that benefited from the firm’s hard work include the Great North Air Ambulance, St Oswald’s Hospice, Tiny Lives and Macmillan Cancer Support.

The money was raised through a range of events including boot camps, cake sales and art exhibitions.

Some staff from the accountancy firm even managed to complete the Three Peaks Challenge during the wettest weekend of 2012.

Gordon Goldie, a partner at Tait Walker said: “2012 has been an incredible year for the business and the team should feel extremely proud of the hard work which has been put into making these fundraising events happen.

“Our most recent fundraiser for the People’s Kitchen was a particular success, raising almost £700 for the charity.”

David Arthur, managing partner at Tait Walker said: “We’ve had an incredibly successful year so far but we are not going to stop here.

“We are already looking forward to what 2013 is going to bring.”
