Accountants open new office

Peter Weldon & Co accountants in Newcastle has opened a new office in order to keep up with increased demand for their professional accountancy services.

The Ashington based business has invested £150,000 in its new Morpeth office so that they can keep up with new business.

Peter Weldon, owner and managing director of the firm, said: “This latest move to open an operation in Morpeth is in response to the increased demand we have experienced from a number of new clients in and around that area of Northumberland.

“The opening of an additional workspace for our staff – the first time we have expanded from our HQ in Ashington – is an exciting new direction for Peter Weldon and the team.”

The new office in Appleby House, Castle Square has a staff of 14 financial advisers, corporate finance consultants and tax specialists who are working with clients based in Northumberland and throughout the North East.

Weldon added: “In essence, we’ve outgrown our base in Ashington and the new offices in Morpeth allow our staff much more flexibility in dealing with the growing list of clients.

“It will also assist us further in the developing new lines of business for the practice. It’s a proud moment for me personally to be officially present in such a vibrant town.”

The company recently added accounting and corporate finance specialist David Fish to its staff.
