Appointment of new insolvency and commercial litigation specialist at Sintons

Sintons solicitors in Newcastle have recruited a new senior insolvency and commercial litigation specialist.

Paul Monaghan has been named as the new head of corporate recovery and insolvency. He is joining the legal team from another North-East law firm.

He has a great deal of experience working in the fields of corporate recovery and insolvency and high value commercial litigation matters. He has acted for large private sector organisations as well as individuals throughout the UK. He has a special interest in sports law.

He will lead a team at Sintons who will focus on enhancing the firm’s reputation as corporate insolvency specialists.

Mr Monaghan is one of a handful of solicitors who hold the Higher Rights of Audience (All Courts Proceedings) qualification so he can appear as advocate and conduct litigation in lower and higher Courts.

Head of Dispute Resolution at Sintons, Catherine Wood, said: “We are extremely pleased that Paul has joined us. His experience and expertise in corporate recovery and insolvency promise to be extremely valuable, and will add significantly to our existing strength in this area.”

Mr Monaghan said: “It wasn’t a hard decision to join Sintons. The firm has an enviable reputation for its business portfolio, and especially its dispute resolution work, and I look forward to helping to develop that further.”
