Three dentists in Newcastle are raising money for charity by completing a mammoth cycling challenge.
The dentists who are part of the team at Whickham Dental in Gateshead will be raising money for the Grace House Hospice in Sunderland with a Coast to Coast cycle.
Andrew Dixon, Ian Davidson and John Wykes will set off on 23rd June from Workington and are planning to cycles 138 miles back to Tynemouth in just one day.
The long distant cycle ride is enough of a challenge, but the dentists also have to contend with elevation changes from sea level to 2000 feet. Other members of staff from the Whickham Dental will be cheering them on by supplying food and water along the route.
The dental practice support many charities and decided to form a partnership with Grace House after seeing the work that they do.
The staff are aiming to raise as much as they can for the hospice which supports children and their families.
The charity does not receive any government funding and they are completely self supporting. They cover the area from Berwick to Teeside and offer a great deal of support. They have recently moved to new premises in Southwick, Sunderland.
