Fundraising cycle challenge

Three dentists from the Newcastle area have embarked on a major cycling challenge to raise money for a local charity.
The team of three dentists from Whickham Dental in Gateshead near Newcastle tackled a Coast to Coast cycle ride to raise money for the Grace House Hospice in Sunderland.

Ian Davidson, Andrew Dixon and John Wykes set out on the challenging route from Workington on June 23 and in only one day planned to cover 138 miles on their bikes to Tynemouth for their major fundraising mission.

The route included elevation changes from sea level to 2000 feet.  They were cheered all the way by fellow dentists in Newcastle area.

Whickham Dental supports lots of charities and after seeing first-hand the good work that Grace House does the team wanted to raise some money for the charity which supports children and their families.

The charity is fully self-supporting and receives no government funding.  It covers the Berwick to Teesside area.
