Locally inspired designs part of Hotel Indigo

There is a new name amongst the hotels in Newcastle as the £20m Hotel Indigo opens.

The newly developed hotel from the InterContinental Hotel Group boutique brand is owned and operated by Sanguine Hospitality.

The hotel includes 148 bedrooms, the regionally inspired Grainger Lounge bar and restaurant and a Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill.

Hotel Indigo is in a prime city centre location; close to Newcastle railway station, the main shopping streets and Newcastle United’s football ground, St James’ Park.

The hotel has been designed to reflect Newcastle’s Georgian, Edwardian and Victorian architectural heritage and includes images of the Tyne Bridge and vaulted ceilings of with pictures of Grainger Market.

Adam Munday, the general manager for the hotel, said that Hotel Indigo offered an original accommodation concept for the city.

“The design of Hotel Indigo Newcastle is locally inspired and we hope its colourful, distinctive interior will bring a vibrant feel to the heart of the city centre,” he explained.

The new hotel is the seventh Hotel Indigo to open in the UK. Sanguine Hospitality own and operate the three Hotel Indigos in Newcastle, Birmingham and Liverpool.
