She was so impressed with one of her apprentices, Becky Percival, that she has put her forward in The Sentinel Business Awards in the Young Apprentice of the Year category sponsored by Stoke-on-Trent College.

Businesses based in Stoke-on-Trent city centre are fighting to keep advertising boards outside of their stores without being charged. The shops have started a petition after the council reacted to complaints from shoppers about cluttered streets. The petition has been organized by David Hawkins, owner Cannonball Records, after the council revealed plans to charge traders to display their A-boards or products.

Rising star on the motor racing circuit Jake Dalton is continuing to impress despite having to deal with some setbacks in the testing stage. He suffered some mishaps including a blown engine after setting the time for the fastest lap in Silverstone and a 100 mph crash at Donnington. Luckily, the crash only created a dent in his budget and no one was injured.
