We all know the economy is in a dire state, but I think that it has got to the point now when we really need some good news.
Prices are rising but salaries aren’t and the quality of life for most of the general public is just getting worse.
This week we were told that food prices will be higher this winter because the poor weather has affected the harvest; that British Gas would be raising their gas and electricity tariffs by 6% and that Sky are raising the cost of their line rental by 18%. Just where are people meant to be finding this extra money from?
It seems these days that it doesn’t matter how hard you work, money has got us all in a strangle hold. Sadly, it looks like the only option for a lot of people is to get into debt.
But where is the light at the end of this tunnel? When will the economy start to recover? When will we actually have some disposable income to play around with? We’re caught in a vicious circle; we can’t help improve the economy because none of us have any extra money to spend in it!
I suppose all we can really do is be as sensible as possible and keep our fingers crossed for a money miracle.
