The UK digital ad spend grew 12.6% to £2.6 billion during the first half of 2012, according to The Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB).

The newly-released figures show mobile up 132% to £181.5 million; video up by 43% to £69.8m; social media banners up 36% to £134.2m; while FMCG joins Finance as the largest digital display advertiser, which accounts for almost one third combined.
Advertising on the Internet and mobile phones has increased by 12.6% to a record six-month high figure of £2.59 billion during the first half of 2012, which is an increase of £294 million from £2.3 billion during the first half of 2011, according to an advertising expenditure report from the IAB which was conducted by PwC.
Paid-for search marketing continues to grow. Year-on-year this increased 15.9% to £1,527 million from £1,318 million – a 59% share of digital advertising.
