I was at a meeting a couple of nights ago and we were discussing relationships and marriage. Separation and divorce were talked about and one lady presented an interesting tale that perhaps indicates the times we live in.
She said a friend had been going to a parents’ evening at her child’s school. The child had asked if her parents, who are married and live together, would not come to the parents’ evening together. When the mother asked why, the child said because she would feel like the odd one out if her parents came together: all her friends’ parents were either separated or divorced, she said, and would not be there together.
I find this sad. I hope I’m not the only one.
