One poor cat has taken the nine lives theory to the limit after seemingly coming back from the dead – after being buried. Poor pet moggy Bart was run over by a car, found battered and lifeless at the side of the road and buried in a shallow grave. But five days later the phenomenal feline was seen wandering around near his home in Tampa Bay, Florida.
Owner Ellis Hutson, who had been distraught at the loss of his pet, could not believe Bart the cat was back.
The badly injured animal is now being treated at the animal health centre of the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.
The society said: “We have seen many amazing cases at our full-service veterinary clinic, but this situation may take the cake!
“He had dug himself out of the grave and slowly made his way back home, albeit weak, dehydrated and in need of medical attention.
“He is being treated for a broken jaw, open facial wounds and a ruined eye, which will have to be removed. Luckily, the injuries sustained were not more serious. Veterinarians expect him to recover and be able to go back home.”
What an amazing story! That cat definitely deserves a big bowl of cream when he does get home.
There are going to be a lot of terrified people out there now though, that are too afraid to bury their deceased pets. I know I would be after reading this.
