The countdown is on, with only two weeks to go until this year’s Sport Relief fundraiser. A spin-off from the hugely successful Comic Relief there are plenty of sport-related (and not so sport-related!) activities going on around the UK to get people involved and raising money for charity. At the centre of the event is The Sport Relief Games, which are taking place at over 1000 locations across the nation between the 18th to the 20th March.
There are three ‘games’ to choose from. Depending how energetic you’re feeling you can walk, jog or run around a 1, 3 or 6-mile course. Or, if you prefer being in water, then there are 1.5, 2.5 or 5 km swimathons taking place nationwide. If that all seems a bit much you can always put a team together and share the workload. Alternatively you can take the challenge on two wheels and get on your bike to cycle your choice of three distances.
What baking has to do with sport, we have no idea, but if you’re more at home in the kitchen than down the gym get yourself a natty Bake Off for Sport Relief star baker apron and get cooking. If you fancy yourself as a bit of a Mary Berry / Paul Hollywood type then put on a bake sale and give the proceeds to Sport Relief.
Of course if you’re too busy, tired, or just fancy a night in front of the TV, you can always sit back on the sofa, enjoy an evening of sport-related entertainment and donate from the comfort of your own home.
