60 jobs created in Swansea by Sinclair Group

A car dealership group will soon be starting a major recruitment drive as their plans for a city car dealership have been approved. The Sinclair Group, which already owns several Swansea garages and dealerships, are building a new Volkswagen franchise dealership on Langdon Road next to their Mercedes and Audi garages.

New lunch forum for businesswomen

Two businesswomen from West Wales are trying to do their bit for women in local industry by starting a lunch-time networking forum. They hope that the forum will encourage women to be considered for senior positions in local companies. Sarah Wynne, who works at Clay Shaw Butler business consultants and chartered accountants in Swansea and Jo Watson, of Antur Insurance, have called the Carmarthen-based forum Beyond20.

Water skier Ray says age is no barrier

Many of us search for ways to keep looking and feeling young, but a Swansea pensioner has revealed that all it takes is staying away from smoking, playing sports and going out with your friends on a Friday night. 80 year old grandfather Ray Trotman is the oldest member of the Mumbles Water Skiing Club and regularly completes the slalom course at a lake in Resolven alongside his wife Carole.

Tree lined streets in Swansea boulevard project

Swansea council is keen to start major environmental improvements on Oystermouth Road between the River Tawe and the LC. They are proposing lining both sides of the road with trees and planting trees in the central verge. They are planning to re-develop the area with new natural stone pavements, resurfaced carriageways as well as cycling facilities and better pedestrian crossing points.
