The hunt for five-year-old April Jones has had people praying around the world, willing a good outcome.
We have all been willing and hoping for April’s safe return. The search for her has now entered its eighth day and a man has been charged with her murder.
It has been heartening to see the community of Machynlleth in Mid Wales and the surrounding area come together to support the family and the police. In a tribute marking the hour last Monday that April was last seen hundreds of sky lanterns were released, including one by April’s parents. Many people released balloons and lit candles. Similar events were held in towns 15 miles away and the tower at Blackpool was lit up pink during the evening. Pink is April’s favourite colour and it also means hope. Let’s all hope.
