Today is the official release date for the new Bond film Skyfall.
007’s latest adventure will receive its world premiere tonight, before a royal audience. The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall are to join Skyfall stars at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
For once I wouldn’t mind swapping places with the Duchess to see the world premiere of the 23rd film in the official James Bond series. It sees Daniel Craig playing the role of 007 for the third time on the big screen.
Other members of the cast due to join him on the red carpet include Dame Judi Dench, who is playing M again, Ralph Fiennes, Javier Bardem, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw and Berenice Marlohe.
People are saying Skyfall is an epic film. It is released in the year that James Bond films are celebrating half a century. The Skyfall premiere comes just a little more than two weeks after the 50th anniversary of the world premiere of the first Bond film, Dr. No, on October 5, 1962.
We are planning a family outing to see Skyfall in half term next week and I can’t wait. I am hoping the film and Daniel Craig live up to my high expectations. I am confident they will.
