I read today that One Direction is now worth £26 million. It made me laugh and cry all at the same time. One Direction is another name to come shooting out of the X Factor cogs that seem to be increasingly feeding and monopolising the music charts nowadays.
Good looking young lads they may be deemed by screaming young girls, but stars I don’t think so.
I have nothing against Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles and Zayn Malik, but it pains me how gullible the public is when it’s so easy to be manipulated by reality/competition TV. Yes, X Factor is a platform for wannabes and some of them are good – very occasionally better than good. I don’t think One Direction would have got anywhere without the programme though. No doubt many will disagree.
Congratulations to One Direction though. You seized the opportunity that was presented to you and I admire that – if not your singing.
