There is no doubt that the smartphone is one of the greatest inventions of modern times.
It’s difficult to remember a time when people didn’t have one, and they have totally revolutionised the way we absorb knowledge and interact.
The unfortunate downside of a smartphone is that because there is so much that this device can do, it can drain the battery very quickly.
We have all been in that situation where we are out and about, we’re looking forward to maybe listening to some music, or we’re checking out Facebook or looking at Snapchat, only for you to find your battery at 5%.
You’re then dimming the brightness on your phone, deleting history, and basically doing anything that will eek out those remaining last few percentages of battery life for just that little bit longer until you reach your destination or the end of the day.
Then the phone battery dies, and you’re left with nothing to do, or that urgent person you need to call will have to wait until you find a charger and a plug.
One of the worst things you can do is realise that you haven’t charged your phone overnight, which means you’re struggling to get through the morning with a battery intact, let alone the day.
Well, all of that could soon be a thing of the past with the advent of a smartphone that charges in just 5 minutes!
It could enter into production as early as 2018, and there is no doubt that it could revolutionise the way we can use smartphones.
There are some doubts about the technology, which is hardly a surprise, as it seems incredible to charge a phone in such a short space of time.
But if the technology pans out, it could be an even better time to be in the digital age.
